In an era defined by rapid technological advancements and an urgent need for universal meaningful connectivity, the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development convenes its Fall Meeting 2024 against the backdrop of the UN General Assembly and the Summit of the Future.
The annual Spring Meeting of the Commission 2024 focused on the theme “Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Universal Access and Connectivity.” Commissioners discussed how emerging technologies can help achieve universal connectivity and change the future outlook. Key topics included the risks and opportunities these technologies present, as well as how they can be integrated into the Global Digital Compact and influence the Summit of the Future.
The Broadband Commission’s WSIS+20 Forum session will feature experts discussing how to prioritize equity and inclusion in AI, connectivity, government digital services, and data governance to shape progressive digital policies.
