Dr. Wang Jianzhou,
China Mobile Communications Corporation
Wang Jianzhou is currently the Chairman of China Mobile
Communications Corporation. He formerly served as Director General of the
Department of General Planning of the Ministry of Information Industry, and
Chairman and President of China United Telecommunications Corporation Limited.
Dr Wang graduated from Zhejiang University with a Master's Degree in
Engineering, and holds a Doctoral degree in Business Administration from Hong
Kong Polytechnic University.
China Mobile now holds the largest market capitalization among global
telecommunication companies, with network coverage over 98% of China’s national
population and mobile network access to over 30,000 most remote villages in
China. In 2007, Dr Wang was nominated as one of BusinessWeek’s Best Leaders
2006. In 2008, Dr Wang was invited to attend World Economic Forum Annual Meeting
in Davos as one of the Co-chairs.
